‧「等我一下！」(不是wait me) 各種說法如下：
Just a moment / minute / second (較正式)
Just one moment / minute / second (較正式)
Wait a moment / minute / second (口語、非正式場合、朋友、同事)
Wait one moment / minute / second (口語、非正式場合、朋友、同事)
Hold on / Hang on (常用於電話中)
Give me a second/minute/moment
「給我一秒/分鐘/片刻」，也就是「等一下」
‧if / whether 都是「是否」，怎麼分別？
1. 條件句中，用 「if」 表示 「如果」, 不能用 「whether」。
If I get hungry, I’ll have a snack.
I’ll take an umbrella if it rains.
2. 陳述句中提及兩種選擇時，常用 「whether」。
I don’t know whether to have an apple or a biscuit.
I can’t decide whether to go home or not.
3. 間接一般疑問句中，「if」 和 「whether」 都適用，同樣表示 「是否」 的意思。「Whether」 更正式一點。
Do you know if the apples are fresh?
I don’t know whether to have an apple or a biscuit.
Can you tell if/whether it’s going to rain today?

‧The kingdom of far far away 遠的要命王國
‧far away ph.片語 遠處, (離...)很遠
例句:He said he would go far away in order to hide.
他說為了藏起來他要去很遠的地方。
faraway [ˋfɑrəˋwe] adj. 遙遠的，遠方的
例句:Her children settled in faraway places.
她的孩子都在遙遠的地方定居下來。

For just a card, or just a letter 只為了一張明信片或一封信
Saying he’s returning home to me 好告訴我他將回家裡來
‧現在完成進行式（have + been + V-ing）
強調「過去至今一段時間內反覆進行的動作」，或是指一件事「從過去一直持續至今，目前仍在進行的動作，而且可能會持續下去」，重點在於動作的持續。

‧pass sth. by ph. 經過
1.對某人/某事物無影響或不起作用
The whole business passed him by.
整件事情都已過去了, 他卻未曾察覺到。
2.不注意; 忽視或避免接觸
We cannot pass this matter by without protest.
我們必須對此事提出抗議，不能就這樣忽視它。

修飾名詞的用法

1.投遞；傳送；運送[（+to）]
The mailman delivered the letters on time.
那個郵差準時地投遞信件。
2.發表；講；宣布
The president delivered an important report/speech at the meeting.
總統在會上作了重要報告/演說。
3.解救；解脫；釋放[（+from）]
Education delivered him from ignorance.
教育把他從無知中解救出來。
