Hope:

Hey, Joey. How are you doing today?

Joey:

Hey. Hope, you are back!

Hope:

I am back.

Joey:

How was your trip?

Hope:

It was a great one!

Joey:

Really? Tell me about it.

Hope:

Well, you know my sister and I took my parents to make a short trip to Okinawa.

Joey:

Uh-huh?

Hope:

Since my parents are in their 80’s, we decided to take things really slow and focus on enjoying the moment

rather than rushing visiting tourist attractions, so my parents wouldn’t get too tired.

Joey:

Sounds great!

Hope:

So, we kind of spent time at the beach every morning, just relaxing and soaking up the sunshine. It was so peaceful.

Joey:

That’s sounds lovely. Did your parents enjoy the beach?

Hope:

They did. My dad loved sitting under the umbrella watching the waves and we chatted at times and my mom

enjoyed just feeling the sand between her toes. It was great to see them so relaxed and happy.

And I felt so thankful to have such quality time with them.

Joey:

That’s great to hear. I agree that sometimes it’s really important to slow down and just be present.

You know, 慢活. How was the rest of the trip?

Hope:

It was fantastic. We didn’t rush through too many activities. Instead, we just focused on well-being

and making sure my parents were comfortable and happy. 

For example, we took leisurely walks to the supermarket near our hotel every evening.

And we grabbed some local food at diners nearby. I just loved the way we accompanied each other.

Joey:

That is such a nice way to travel, especially with elderly people like your parents.

Hope:

It is!

Joey:

By the way, did you face any challenges at the airport?

Hope:

Well, I was quite worried about having problems at the airport, but it turned out Okay!

Joey:

Oh?

Hope:

We were really grateful for the assistance we received. I mean the airport staff was so helpful.

They provided wheelchairs for my parents and helped us get through Customs smoothly.

Joey:

Oh, that’s nice of them.

Hope:

What’s more, they even escorted us to the gate, which made the whole process so much easier.

You know it makes a big difference when you get support like that.

Joey:

That’s wonderful. It took a lot of stress off your shoulders.

Hope:

Absolutely. My parents were very comfortable and felt well taken care of. It made the trip even more enjoyable for all of us.

Joey:

I bet.

Hope:

You know, no rush, no schedules. This trip makes me more grateful toward people and things around.

I think sometimes we forget how beneficial it can be to slow down and appreciate the little things.

Joey:

Exactly!

Hope:
