(Joey is back from the trip to Eastern Taiwan.)

Hope:

Hi, Joey. You’re finally back! How was your trip?

Joey:

Oh, Hope. It is so, so, so beautiful! I don’t want to come back. 真的太美了!

Hope:

I bet. Everyone says they fall in love with Easter Taiwan the moment they get there.

Joey:

Hope:

Tell me everything. What did you do there?

Joey:

Hmm… where do I even begin?! First of all, we were lucky to have amazing weather.

Then, the first breaking moment view was when the ocean suddenly appeared beside the highway.

Hope:

Joey:

We went to Luye Highland to take part in Taiwan International Balloon Festival.

Hope:

Joey:

Of course! It is a must-do! The view from up there was really …really…beautiful.

Hope:

You mean the view was absolutely stunning.

Joey:

Hope:

Joey:

Hope:

Joey:

什麼意思? What do you mean? No, we didn’t wear socks. We wore sandals. How could the food knock our socks off?

Hope:

Haha! Knock your socks off means something is surprisingly impressive or amazing. It’s way better than you expected.

Joey:

So, “knock my socks off” 就是好到 令人刮目相看的意思?

Hope:

Exactly. You can also say “The food blew my socks off.”

Joey:

“The food really blew my socks off.” I can totally picture that. 我可以想像的出來。

Hope:
