(Joey and Hope are doing grocery shopping at the supermarket. )

Hope:

Hey, Joey. Over here. (Waves hands.)

Joey:

Hi, Hope… Have you been waiting long?　有等很久嗎？

Hope:

No. I just got here.

Joey:

Let’s grab a 購物推車.

Hope:

Sure. I think shopping carts are over there.

Joey:

Shopping carts. 購物推車. Let me get one.

Hope:

Joey, do you have a shopping list?

Joey:

Shopping list? No, I don’t. Do you?

Hope:

Yes. I am going to get a package of flour, a bottle of olive oil, a carton of eggs, a pint of yogurt, and…

Joey:

Wait. Hope. Do you always shop with a shopping list?

Hope:

Not always, but I prefer jotting down things I need before grocery shopping. This way, I can avoid buying unnecessary stuff.

Joey:

I am different. I like to just walk around and grab whatever looks good.

Hope:

Well, you enjoy doing shopping spontaneously.

Joey:

Spontaneously?

Hope:

Yes. it means doing things naturally, often suddenly, and without planning.

Joey:

Oh, 自然的、自發的、沒計畫的?

Hope:

Exactly.

Joey:

Got it! 簡單的說，就是想買什麼就買什麼。I agree. I always do things spontaneously.

Hope:

That’s why you always end up with five bags of chips and no healthy food.

Joey:

That’s what my mom says. Anyway, which aisle should we start in?

Hope:

Let’s go to the bakery first. I want to get some fresh bread before it’s all gone.

Joey:

Good idea.  Oh wow, the smell of those croissants is amazing. 我要流口水了。

Hope:

Right? Same here. They make my mouth water. I’ll grab a loaf of bread. And a jar of jam.

Next on my list……milk, eggs and yogurt from the frozen food and dairy area. 

Joey:

Frozen yogurt or regular yogurt?

Hope:

Regular. Thanks. And don’t forget we need some frozen vegetables, too.

Joey:

Got it! Hey, Look! They are doing 試吃 over there…

Hope:

All right, let’s check it out. It looks like they are sampling some new cheese.

Joey:

Let’s go try some. Oh~ There is a long line. Should we wait?

Hope:

Sure. It’s free food. Besides, we can think what else we need while we wait.

Joey:

Look at you and your list. You even brought a pen to check things off!

Hope:

It a must. Organization is key. So, let’s go to Aisle 7 after this.

Joey:

What do you need there?

Hope:

Shampoo and toothpaste.

Joey:

I think I can get a bottle of shower gel there, too. Oh, and I also need some new Tupperware.

Hope:

Those are in aisle 8.

Joey:

Don’t forget the snacks aisle! I want to grab some potato chips.

Hope:

You just can’t resist, can you?

Joey:

Haha, I shop for the soul, and you shop for the list!
